1. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You may browse as a guest or create a free account. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to use the Service only for lawful purposes.

2. The Service

Distill uses artificial intelligence to generate summaries of publicly available YouTube videos from their transcripts and metadata. Summaries are provided for personal, informational use. They may contain errors or omissions — always refer to the original video for authoritative information.

We do not claim ownership of YouTube videos, transcripts, or third-party content. Your use of YouTube content remains subject to YouTube's terms and the rights of content owners.

3. Plans & usage limits

Distill offers guest access, a free registered tier, and a paid Pro subscription. Current limits (subject to change with notice):

• Guest: limited daily summaries; paste-link access.
• Free account: higher daily summary limit; videos up to 60 minutes.
• Pro: unlimited summaries; videos up to 2 hours, plus additional features.

We may enforce rate limits or suspend accounts that abuse the Service or degrade performance for others.

4. Subscriptions & payments

Pro subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store (or Google Play when available). Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

Refunds are handled according to Apple's refund policies. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at help@distill.lol within 14 days of purchase and we will help where we can.

5. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to violate any law, infringe intellectual property, scrape or reverse-engineer our systems at scale, interfere with other users, or attempt to circumvent usage limits or paywalls. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.

6. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or accuracy of AI-generated content. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Distill and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or reliance on summaries.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Terms on distill.lol and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
